A Buffalo WHAT!!!!

Today Cody and I went to what used to be the sportsman warehouse for a waste of an hour or two.  At the front door there was a collection of canes, and I always stop and look at the canes.  Call it planning ahead if you want, but I also find them kind of cool.

Well, there was a very unique looking one in the box, and I pulled it out and tested it.  It was two short by a few inches, but was still 30” plus.  It had a plaque on it, so I read it… Then read it a second time, and then a third… I held it up to Cody, and asked him if it said what I thought it said.  He looked at it, and then read it.  I laughed, and then asked him if it was made from what I thought it was.  He pointed to the lower part of his body, and said “It says it is made from the reproductive organ of a buffalo… It’s made from THIS area?”

I laughed, shrugged my shoulders, and replied “that’s what it says…”

Well, on with the discussion, and I started testing the cane out.  As I was leaning on it, Cody said, “it’s kind of short”.  I know he was talking about it being short for me, but I couldn’t help it.

I replied “Is it really short, considering what it is made out of and what the original purpose was”.  The look on his face was pretty funny, and then he laughed and said something about the poor animal.

Well, I was having a hard time believing that it was indeed made out of the material they claimed it was.  So I looked it up… Apparently it is a genuine article, and you can get your own at this website.

There web site says that you can send in your own specimen from a hunt or kill for them to use.  Elk work, but for smaller objects.  I wonder if they can turn a 14” elk “specimen” into a back scratcher or something…
